Parke’s Castle
Parke’s Castle, a meticulously restored plantation castle dating back to the early 17th century, graces the picturesque shores of Lough Gill. Once the residence of Sir Robert Parke and his family, this historic site unfolds its tales.
Within the Courtyard grounds, remnants of an earlier 16th-century Tower House structure, once possessed by Sir Brian O’Rourke, who met his fate at Tyburn, London in 1591, can be discovered.
Constructed with Irish oak and employing traditional craftsmanship, the Castle stands as a testament to careful restoration. The grounds host a permanent exhibition showcasing artifacts from the 17th century, featuring replica period costumes and furniture.
