Walking the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is an exhilarating experience but it can also be a scary one. The bridge spans a gap of approximately 30m across to the rocky island of Carrick-a-Rede and has been used by fishermen for hundreds of years. Despite being reinforced with modern ropes, some people may still find the bridge intimidating. The narrow wooden planks and swaying ropes can make it difficult to keep your balance, especially in windy conditions. Additionally, the height of the bridge means that there is a long drop below which could be disorientating for some people.
