How To Drive in Ireland (for an American)
“The Quaint Irish Village “
During the daytime the pubs are open and the turf fire warms those who enter for a bowl of soup and a chat with the owner.
The grocery stores are bustling with customers doing the shopping and chatting with the grocer.
The old post offices are a hub of activity with people posting to the states for Thanksgiving and receiving letters from family abroad. It’s business as usual! There are some old post offices that haven’t changed a bit since the olden days, and the old fire is still on display.
There are little cafés and tea rooms serving the most delicious buns and tarts.
At night time, there are visits to family and friend’s houses, storytelling by the fire and perhaps a sing song and the traditional Irish instruments will be whipped out!
The pub doors are open in the evenings too, with the fire blazing, a pint of Guinness or a hot port being enjoyed and music fills the air.
