Do You Remember Your First Trip To Ireland?
My first trip started in Dublin with our choir Cantores Brigantini. I fell in love with Ireland when sitting in the plane and looked out of the window and saw the thousand greens we were invited to have a few concerts in Dublin, Belfast and Bangor, the twintown of my hometown Bregenz at Lake Constance. From the first moment this was a wonderful dream and experience for me and I startet to explore Dublin on my own.. I loved the coloured doors, Crafton road, the small narrow streets, the small streams... everything, everytime... we visited Newgrange and a small cemetry with the old monuments and came to Belfast. We were allowed to sing our concert in a school, where all both confession children studied together (I hope this is the correct way I am discribing it) and it really was absolutly amazing in Bangor we were invited to meet the mayor and a lot of citizens of Bangor at the City Hall. We had one afternoon left for us to stroll around the area. I went to the sea for a long walk and was looking to Scotland (I think) The next day we were flying back to munich and the only good thing was, I got back to my children and boy friend. All through this four days I was feeling like being on drugs, high above in the clouds, in heaven.... the sea, the country., the wonderful lovely people... I made about 500 photos... It was... like coming home... with every small peace of my soul.. but the absolutly most beloved moment I remember all through the years is: in every place.. church..pub..school..street... we were singing "The Irish blessing" , all people are standing up or still, putting the right hand to the heart and were singing with us... and everytime I had tears in my eyes
... this has been in the year 2000. And now.. 25 years later, all children have left the house.. we both, my husband and me are ready to leave Austria to go back home, where our souls and hearts belong to...Ireland
