The Parting Glass | Ireland’s Favourite Folk Song

Ireland’s favourite folk sing will put you in a great mood.

The Parting Glass is thought to have been a popular New Year’s Eve song in both Ireland and Scotland before it was superseded by Auld Lang Syne.

The Parting Glass is also a great example of a  combination of both  joy and sorrow in a way that is both sad yet uplifting at the same time. The song may have fell out of use during New Year celebrations but it still remains one of the most popular traditional songs in Ireland.
