History of The Rumjacks
The Rumjacks were founded in 2008 by lead singer Frankie McLaughlin. They quickly gained a following with their distinctive mix of punk and traditional Celtic folk music. Their early work earned them international recognition and support from influential artists like UK Subs, GBH, and Gogol Bordello. Despite several lineup changes, the current members include McLaughlin on vocals, Johnny McKelvey on bass, Anthony Matters on drums, and Gabriel Whitbourne on guitar, banjo, mandolin, and bouzouki.
The band's debut EP, "Hung, Drawn & Portered," was released in 2008, followed closely by "Sound as a Pound." Their first studio album, "Gangs of New Holland," came out in 2010, followed by "Sleepin’ Rough" in 2012 and "Hestia" in 2015. Over the years, they have also released numerous EPs and singles.
